
Lisa Weissler has over seven years of experience with the Alaska Coastal
Management Program with both the legislative and executive branches
of government. As legislative staff to Representative Ethan Berkowitz
she worked with legislators and coastal districts to track and respond
to the 2003 legislative changes in the ACMP. As Assistant Attorney
General to the coastal program, she provided legal counsel to the Office
of the Governor and the Coastal Policy Council and authored numerous
legal opinions specific to the ACMP. As a Project Analyst for the Division
of Governmental coordination, she dealt with timber issues under the
ACMP, advised staff on coastal management program and policy issues,
and oversaw implementation of projects funded by the Coastal Impact
Assistance Program, including developing and implementing a competitive
grant program for coastal related projects. Lisa has also worked as
a law clerk for a superior court judge and as a special assistant for
the Alaska Department of Natural Resources where she adjudicated administrative
appeals to the commissioner.
Lisa holds a bachelor degree in forest resource management and a law
degree with an emphasis on natural resource law. She is a member
of the Alaska
Bar Association. |
